Sunday mornings

I love weekend mornings, especially Sundays, at my kitchen table.  During the week, I struggle to wake up and get out of bed.  On the weekends, I can’t wait to get up, the earlier the better, to have some quiet morning hours at the table.  I pour out my coffee, pick up my knitting, fire up the space heater (at least at the moment), turn on NPR, and settle in to while away the morning, alternating between knitting and catching up on my blog and Ravelry forum reading.

I’d had some grand plans for knitting, and blogging, this weekend.  I have a new series I’m excited to start and share with you.  Work, however, has intervened: there are deadlines to be met, and so my usual lazy Sunday morning will give way to one spent wrestling with, hopefully, some final revisions on a dissertation chapter.

But I still wanted to take a moment to say hello as I sip my morning coffee and wish you a happy Sunday! What are your plans for the day?

And if you’re on Instagram and haven’t come across it yet, I highly recommend checking out the #yarnlovechallenge. I’ve been taking part, and it’s a lot of fun. The challenge, devised by some of the lovely humans behind Ravelry, involves daily promts, and it has been lovely seeing how people interpret them.  And I’ve enjoyed sharing on Instagram in a bit more fulsome way.  If you haven’t seen it yet, I definitely recommend browsing the hashtag when you have a moment.

Yarn pictured is a Viola Sock Kit … it’s next up on the needles, as soon as I can finish Mr. N’s socks.
