Happy Thursday friends!
It’s been quiet around these parts of late. I’ve been in Philadelphia, sorting through boxes, wading through seas of yarn and trying to get my new apartment in order — aided by a very dear friend from Baltimore who helped me get it all done! I’ve been without internet in the place, so hopping on here has been hard!
After two days of unpacking, though, the place is starting to look like my own … and I’ve decamped to my parents’ house in Virginia for Labor Day weekend — yay!
But enough about me … Thursday’s all about the socks! And I have a finished pair to show … my Hermione’s Everyday Socks are done, done, done!
I’ve blogged about these pretty extensively (here, here, here and here) so I don’t have loads more to say. But as a quick recap: the pattern is Erica Lueder’s Everyday Hermione Socks (available free on Ravelry) in an unidentified yarn (my extensive Ravelry stash snooping hasn’t turned up anything yet). I worked these one-at-a-time on magic loop.
I brought these home to my parents with me, and my mom took some pictures for me … I just love how they turned out! She really captured the color of the yarn!
And just one more for good measure:
These still need to be blocked, but I’m really happy with how they turned out. I finished them up last weekend right before I left Mr. N in LA (sniff, sniff). Since then, I’ve cast on my Smooth Operator socks twice, and still don’t have anything to show for them (grrr ..) All in good time, though … for now, I’m happy these are done, and hopefully will have some SOS progress for next Thursday.
There’s a group of us who write about socks on Thursday. Head on over and check out Maggie’s post at Project(s) in Progress. Paula at Spin a Yarn is on a healing hiatus from knitting, so no socks this week, but she’s just started the 30 Day Knitting Challenge — check it out on her blog!
Other Thursday sockalongers on break at the moment:
Thanks for stopping by! Friday Favorites will be on break tomorrow, but I’ll be back soon with some exciting things to share from my last weekend in Los Angeles and Labor Day weekend in Virginia. Happy knitting!
